COOMBS COUNTRY CAMPGROUND TO SEAMUS’ HOUSE, VANCOUVER

Keeping it short, I’m tired.  But I’m in Vancouver!! Didn’t have to ride far today, only 27 miles, because I pushed onward a little farther yesterday. Rode through Coombs - cute town with goats on the roof (cooler than it sounds), met some deer on the road, and skipped the chance at Booster Juice to make it to the 12:50 ferry.  Riding the highway was brutal, even with enough of a shoulder, big rigs screaming past you is never fun. And sometimes there was barely a shoulder, in the rain, with hills ascending and descending. I was terrified, to be honest, and if I could do today over again I would find another route.

Seamus’ friend Larissa was also on the ferry, she showed me the ways of the buses here and helped me lug all my gear on board.  Some cyclists gave us their bus passes so we rode for free! Tomorrow I will take the bus back to Horseshoe Bay and start riding to Squamish.  So incredibly grateful for the hot shower, laundry, and bed at Seamus’ place. Vancouver is beautiful and did not disappoint.

Distance: 27 miles

Climbing: Less than 2000 ft.
